Fall Trends 2014

Fall is here and my favorite colors have made their way in. Jewel tones are the Fall/Winter trend for 2014 and I couldn’t be more happy about it. Emeralds, golds and maroons are at the top of my colors to wear list and bronze is the metal I would wear most to accent. Bronze goes great with every skin tone due to its mild coloring. It doesn’t have the orange of bright copper or the yellows in gold but falls somewhere in between.

Check out my new bronze line and the fabulous pieces that will go with your fall outfits this season. You can’t go wrong with the eclectic rustic vibe when it mixes so well with semi-precious stones! Come find these pieces at D’lighted Jewelry!

Partnerships And Promotions

Quitting your job to start your own business is simply a scary process. Regardless of how prepared you are or where you are in the operation of getting your business off the ground the failure factor follows you around and sits like an elephant in the room or the bad angel on your left shoulder whispering negative nothings in your ear.

I write this from experience. You see I left my real world job of project planning to work my jewelry business full time last week. That anchor of a steady paycheck is gone, putting the pressure on my ability to create something successful. I’ve been building a jewelry business for roughly a year, learning what my style is and offering my goods on Etsy. Now? I know what I like (rustic and raw), I know my style (bohemian chic) and I want you to love it too. As I sit here and write this post I am starting all over. A new business name is in the works and then a new website and allllllllll the fun stuff that goes along with re-creating your brand name.  For instance: new logo, slogan, business cards, website, new social media pages (instagram, twitter, facebook etc) , sales campaigns, partnerships with other bloggers and promotions. And that is just the tip of the ice burg, none of that includes that actual making of store products, shooting them and creating the listings and inventorying the items. Let’s just say I am very glad I have experience in project management!

My newest goal is to start working closer with other artists who create items that match my eclectic bohemian feel. I want to create a website that sells not only my handmade goods but products from other artists as well. Creating a supportive group for artists is a big box item on my list, and even if I don’t sell your products on my new site, that doesn’t mean I don’t want to work with you.  I am looking for the support, feedback and interaction with other artists including writers, local photographers, models and make-up artists.

Do you make eclectic accessories? Scarves, shoes, belts, headbands, stationery? Do you want to network with other artists? Let’s talk!

Cheers,

Sommer
